Before You Take That First Compulsive Bite

- For the abundance in my life - love, fun & adventure.

- Saturday morning meetings - they start me with a good attitude for the following week

- That OA & recovery is international - I've moved countries but it didn't mean I had to leave behind my recovery.

- My sponsor & sponsees - my dis-ease is one of forgetfulness. It seems to me that each day, at one time, I forget what it means to be a compulsive over-eater. I imagine I can eat like everyone else. Working a program, going to meetings, and talking with others including my sponsor and my sponsees, reminds me what I need to do as a compulsive overeater.

- All the miracles my HP has blessed me with to get me to this wonderful point in my life.

- Christmas lights and the hope for a white Christmas, which would be a first for me.

- My HP-given desire to work a program of recovery

My abstinence

Three moderate meals a day, nothing in between except unsweetened coffee.

No Food with sugar as one of its first 4 ingredients including:
Biscuits
Cake
Chocolate
Sweets

Need to be mindful of eating food that can affect me, if I am not in a good space I need to be careful eating:
Bacon
Crisps
Dried fruit - apricots, prunes, sultanas
Fatty meat
Nuts
White bread

I need to keep my body healthy and happy. I can eat greens such as vegetables and salads, if eaten as part of a meal. Cooking myself healthy and tasty meals, meals that do not have to 'look' like I am on a diet, is an important part of loving self-care.
